HOW WE FARM

At Eden Ridge Acres we care deeply about the quality of our food and the regenerative practices of our farming. Producing healthy foods that nurtures our own family, as well as your family, is valued highly. We offer a diverse selection of chemical-free food, year-round on our farm.

From seed to harvest and pasture to plate, we’re building strong community connections while growing & raising food you can confidently feel good about eating. We look forward to being at your table.

Mission: To reunite farm and family back to the table. Providing the local community with a renewed appreciation for heritage farming and food, from farmers they can trust.

IT STARTS WITH THE SEED

Only Organic, heirloom and non-GMO seeds are used.

GROWING PHILOSOPHY

All produce is grown without the use of pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, or genetically modified organisms. For extra precaution; the farm is part of the Field Watch registry (the no spray list.) Our produce is naturally good for you, as well as pollinator friendly! A win, win for all!

DISEASE & PEST CONTROL

In the best way possible, we try our best to manage diseases and pests by employing methods such as plant rotation, companion planting and physical barriers such as row cover and wildflowers. These methods help deter certain pests while also attracting good ones! As a last resort, if ever needed, we may use naturally organic-approved pesticides to help save a crop.

CARING FOR THE SOIL

Building soil fertility through the use of cover crops plays an important part on our farm. Whenever possible, we seed cover crops following a vegetable crop when possible, or at least do our best to cover the ground with mulch. It’s always a goal to have garden beds covered before the winter months. Feeding the soil is an important goal each year, because healthy soil provides healthy food.

WEED CONTROL

Diversity is the key to a healthy farm, so growing a wide variety of produce help achieve this. Weeds are controlled with mulches (like straw, plastic mulch, landscape fabric and “living” mulches) and we try to use minimal cultivation when possible, as well as some good old-fashioned hoeing and hand-weeding!
